Frequently Asked Questions

PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG, WebP, quality, transparency and privacy.

How do I convert PNG to JPG?

Drop your PNG onto the tool, choose JPG as the target format, pick a background colour for any transparent areas (JPG can't store transparency), and download. It all happens in your browser — the PNG is never uploaded.

How do I convert JPG to PNG?

Choose PNG as the target format and drop your JPG in. PNG is lossless, so the result keeps full quality; note that the file may be larger than the JPG, since PNG doesn't use lossy compression.

What is WebP and should I use it?

WebP is a modern format that usually produces smaller files than JPG or PNG at the same quality, which speeds up websites. It's supported by all modern browsers. Convert to WebP to shrink images for the web, or from WebP back to JPG/PNG if you need wider compatibility.

Will converting reduce image quality?

Converting to PNG is lossless — no quality is lost. Converting to JPG or WebP uses lossy compression, so you can trade a little quality for a much smaller file using the quality slider. At 90% quality the difference is usually invisible.

Why does JPG lose transparency?

The JPG format simply can't store transparent pixels. When you convert a transparent PNG to JPG, those areas are filled with the background colour you choose (white by default). Convert to PNG or WebP instead if you need to keep transparency.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Every conversion runs entirely on your device using the browser's canvas — your images never leave your computer, nothing is stored, and there's no watermark or sign-up. It works offline once loaded.
